The Return of the Pleated Skirt

Emmy Rossum

Yes, it's the latest edition of Star Wars. Except this time all about skirts!

As promised, part three of the maxi skirt edition is coming up. But before we get to that, let's review the latest maxi skirt trend: the pleated skirt. This Spring we've seen pleated skirts come in all colors, but mostly bright, fun, and sparkly ones! From golds to silvers to emeralds, these skirts will make you look like you just returned from the 80s. Pair them up with a simple top, or better yet, if you want to be creative, wear a cute little sweater or a belt to add some flavor. Enjoy!

The colors here are heavenly. Light tones will give you a very beautiful spring/summer look.

Absolute perfection. The color, the accessories, the tucked in sheer sweater - this look is chic, cool, and very trendy! Paired beautifully with these shoes:

Am I the only one melting?

70s pleated, done well!

Here is more of a fall look, paired with boots, a belt, and the cute little sweater I was speaking about before. Very nicely done!

For a cooler summer day, this definitely works!

Here we see the leather jacket + maxi skirt trend reemerging!

This is a perfect look for a day out with the gals shopping and hanging out. Very cute and chic, and still dressy to boot!

The pleated skirt + cute sweater trend, seen again!

A great office look! You don't have to wear boring drab clothing to the office if you know how to make fun pieces like this pleated skirt more professional, with the addition of closed toe heels and a mostly black palette!

Perfectly summer! I love this girl, she's always so fashionable. Her name is Caroline Issa. The color of her skirt, a mint girl, is perfect for this season. Also notice her buttoned up shirt, a new trend that we'll blog about soon!

And lastly, the pleated skirt as dress! Done by my favorite fashionista, Yasmin Sewall, who if you look below at our previous posts, has definitely perfected the black coat look. Get it girl!
